Odds and Ends

Drew & I didn't have many plans this weekend, so I've been able to play catch up and get myself a bit more organized today. A day of "odds and ends" is just what I needed! Here's an update on what we've been up to.

I am loving the new refrigerator. The ice/water dispenser in the door is totally awesome and it organizes really well. The satin stainless finish is great - it doesn't fingerprint nearly as badly as regular stainless. While it was an unexpected (and unwanted!) purchase, I'm really happy with it.

In other home improvement news, Drew installed both new storm doors on Saturday. We replaced an old one in the "dog room" that was broken. We also added one to the front door (the final piece of our exterior face lift project from this summer) and it looks fantastic. It has a built in screen that you can slide up and down, which I am loving. And I'm happy to report both projects were completed without a single tantrum from my hubby!

I spent an hour or so in the nursery this morning. Ruby is having a difficult time understanding which toys are hers and which belong to to the baby so it was time I got that room picked up. (I overheard Drew lecturing her a few days ago, "Now Ruby, these toys belong to the baby. They are not for you." It was quite comical listening to him try to reason with a Laboradiva.) It is now a bit more organized, although there is a long way to go. While I was at it, I assembled my first ever baby item...the bouncy seat. It was an easy one, but I think we need to open a savings account for battery purchases. 4 size-D batteries - good grief! When I was all done, I took a breather in the new glider and read a few books to baby. It was fun.

Yesterday was game day. It was an early game (11 am start) so we began tailgating at 8:30 and made breakfast instead of our usual brats and dogs. Drew's parents came to town for the big Homecoming showdown against Texas Tech. Unfortunately, KU forgot to show up and we got creamed. We made it to the third quarter before our group called it a day. It was still fun though...at least until the 2nd quarter when the real trouncing began. I've updated our Football Season Album with some pictures from the early morning tailgate.

This morning I finally organized my pictures from the baby shower weekend. Click here to take a peek!

And that brings us to now. Unfortunately, my cold has decided to settle in for the long haul. I have not been able to breath through my nose since Friday night. But the good news is, my throat no longer hurts and I don't feel nearly as run-down. Just stuffy. I'm sure it will run it's course...eventually. In the meantime, I think Ruby is on to something. I just spotted her in my bedroom.

Told you she was a diva!
