My how time flies. Jackson is one month old today...can you believe it? We marked the occasion by visiting the pediatrician for his one month check-up. The highlights:
- While I was concerned about his congestion, which has progressively gotten worse since last week, it is nothing more than a common cold. Everything we have already been doing (bulb syringe on his nose, humidifier in the bedroom, elevating his head during sleeping hours) is exactly what the doctor suggested. Guess we just have to wait it out. But I was sure glad to hear it hadn't settled in his chest or lungs. Whew.
- Boy is our little man growing! He is now a whopping 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 20.75 inches long. That puts him in the 8th percentile for weight and 25th percentile for height at 4 weeks old. Not bad for a preemie! In fact, if he were born today (his actual due date) at 1 day old he would be in the 70th percentile in weight and 80th in height. Kind of interesting.
- He got a shot today (round 2 of the hep B vaccine). He was a trooper though and only cried briefly. For the record, Daddy hid behind the nurse while Mommy held Jackson's hand. Drew didn't want to "be the bad guy". Wuss.
