Aunts, Uncles & Cousins...Oh My!

It was a busy weekend at our house.

The Bartel Family (Aunt Abby, Uncle Adrian and Cousin Linus) are on their annual Tour de Kansas, visiting family across the state, and our house was their first stop. Jackson met the North Carolina gang for the first time and Drew & I got to hang out with our super cool nephew. And while the weekend was mostly about the kids, it was great to catch up with the adults too.

I knew we would all be happier if we had things to keep us busy, so after a quick lunch and nap time we hit the ground running. Saturday, we ventured to Mass St. for a trip to The Toy Store. We had pizza at a local favorite, Papa Keno's, and then wandered through a little park downtown.

Sunday started with a big breakfast and a fun trip to our neighborhood park. Then we went to Drew's shop so Linus, a fan of "big trucks", could see the equipment up close and personal. After seeing the dump trucks and having a somewhat traumatic ride on a skid loader, we decided ice cream was in order and stopped downtown at Sylas and Maddy's, my all time favorite ice cream shop, for a treat. Gram came to the house that afternoon for a BBQ and then they were off to Junction City for the next leg of their visit.

It was so much fun seeing the cousins together for the first time and getting a sneak peak at what awaits us as Jack gets older. Linus kept wanting "Dak" to get up and run with him. And I'm sure the next time the boys see each other he will! As always, our time together flew by and we were sad to say goodbye.

Here are all of my pictures from their visit. Perhaps I'll be able to snag some of Abby's as well and share them later.

Next weekend, we do it all again. Jackson and I are hitting the road to Omaha where Nana & Papa Wags, Aunt Nikki and almost all of the Diers family will be waiting!
