Stop to Smell the Roses

We've been busy. There was preparing for vacation, then vacation, then catching up after vacation. In just 10 days we do it all again when my brother, mom and dad come to visit. Followed by a small gathering for Jackson's baptism on August 15.

When I saw that our calendar was free this weekend, it was a welcomed break. Not to say I didn't get some things accomplished. Jackson & I attended our Aqua Mom & Me class, my friend Laura came over for a lovely Saturday afternoon visit, the house is clean, the laundry is caught up and we had home cooked, balanced meals all weekend long. But those things were all done by choice. There was nothing I absolutely had to do this weekend.

Which is why when Jackson fell asleep in my lap after his noon bottle today I didn't rush to put him to bed so I could tackled my to-do list as usual. Instead, I just held him. And he slept there, right on my shoulder like he used to so often when he was a tiny baby, for nearly 45 minutes. I didn't move. I didn't feel guilty that I wasn't doing something else. And I didn't want it to end.
