Lately, it seems that everyone has the same question regarding Jack. "Is he walking yet?"
My answer: No.
He will cruise along furniture at lightening speed. Several times he has continued beyond the end of the sofa or coffee table for a few steps until he realizes that he is no longer holding on and then goes to the ground. He has the skill, but when put in open space he has no desire to walk. He simply bends his knees and refuses to stand up. After all, crawling is so fast!
Jackson tends to be an all or nothing kid. And he has a mind of his own. Despite any of our "coaching" or requests for performances, he usually has his own agenda. My hunch is that one day he will forget about his inhibitions and just take off.
Turns out I was right.
Forget the baby steps. Forget the coaxing to come to Daddy, or Mommy or the favorite toy of the moment. Tonight, Jackson decided to start walking. He just stood up and walked across the room. Of his own free will.
It's official. My baby boy is no longer a baby. We have a walker!

Yay Jack! That's super exciting and I'll admit, I just asked last night. There's nothing stopping him now. Watch out Mom and Dad, there he goes.
