Damn Molars

It appears Jackson is getting his one year molars. From what I've heard, these can be brutal teeth to cut. I suppose all things considered we've had it pretty easy. He's not sick. No fever. Not even fussy. As is typical when Jackson is teething, he does; however, have the poops. Only this time the poops have resulted in a diaper rash. A BAD one. Poor little guy just screams when you so much as begin the motions of changing his diaper.

I learned several things about diaper rash today:

1. Boudreaux's Butt Paste rocks. Desitin - not so much.
2. Little boys (at least my little boy) don't empty their bladder in one pee. Instead, they walk around the house peeing every few minutes. As though they are marking their territory. (This was learned during a 30-minute diaper free session while attempting to get fresh air to the sore bum.)
3. A homemade remedy (per our pediatrician) for extreme diaper rash is a mixture of butt paste with a splash of liquid antacid (in our case, Maalox). Apparently, the antacid counteracts the acidity in the poo that causes the rash/soreness. Who knew?

Poor little sore baby butt.
