Bronchiolitis and Like Father Like Son

We're finally on the mend around here.  Well, one of us anyway.

I've neglected the blog this week as I nursed my sick little guy back to health and then dealt with some sleepless nights due to teething woes.

We're pretty sure Jackson had acute bronchiolitis.  Not because he was professionally diagnosed, but because 2 other kids at daycare (with similar symptoms) had it.  Thanks to our pediatrician's super awesome website, we decided a trip to the doctor wasn't necessary.  Bronchiolitis is really just a fancy name for a cold.  There are no antibiotics to treat it.  Rather, it just needs to run it's course.  And, in a proud mommy moment for me, it turns out our method of treatment was exactly what the doctor suggested anyway.  Lots and lots of fluids (water), humidifier and elevating the crib to assist with drainage and make sleeping more comfortable.  The runny nose is nearly gone and all that's left now is a lingering cough.  Take that bronchiolitis!

Unfortunately, Jackson's sickness has made it's way into my body and I now have a raging cold.  Ugh.

Since there's not much more to report other than snotty noses and sleepless nights, I'll leave you with a scene from our kitchen this weekend.

This is Jackson reading the paper during meal time.

And where do you suppose he learned such behavior?

Where else?
