Kiss and Tell

Jackson doesn't give kisses.  He gives headbutts.  When asked for a kiss, he just leans his forehead into the general direction of your face and calls it good.

Until last night.

He & I were almost through our bedtime routine.  We were rocking and singing and Jack was starting to snuggle in.  I can always tell when he's on the verge of really falling asleep.  His body completely relaxes and he gets heavier.  Suddenly, he popped up, opened his mouth as wide as it would go and came straight at my face.  My instincts made me flinch but I quickly realized what he was after.  So I held still and let him plant a huge, wet, slobbery kiss right on my face.  It was simultaneously totally gross and incredibly sweet.  After he laid his head back down I couldn't help but chuckle.  I then heard the faintest little "huh huh huh" and realized he was chuckling too.

This entire scene was repeated no less than 5 times (kiss, chuckle, kiss, chuckle) before he finally gave in and went to sleep.

He's ornery.

But so sweet.

And I love his kisses.

Wonderful and oh so sweet. Those first sloppy kisses are the BEST thing in the world. He loves his mama.
