March of Dimes Wrap Up

The March of Dimes campaign is officially over.

Jackson & I met the GCSAA team at South Park this morning and, along with the rest of the Lawrence participants, we "Marched for Babies".  Or, more accurately, I marched and Jack snoozed in the stroller.

The rain held off and it actually made for a cool and comfortable morning.  A perfect day for a 3-mile stroll.

Here are a few pics of our team getting ready to go.

There were lots of activities for kids - clowns, face painting, balloon animals and a bounce house to name a few.  Jackson didn't really understand all the fuss so we skipped most of the activities this year; but he did get to meet a local celebrity.

After crossing the finish line, everyone was served pancakes by Chris Cakes (these guys can flip pancakes like nobody's business!).  Jack was definitely a fan of that part.  He wasn't too excited about the "I Did It" sticker on his shirt, though.

In the end, we raised exactly $300 for the March of Dimes.  That's 300% of the $100 goal I initially set for myself!

It was a fun morning and a good cause.

I think we'll do it again next year.
