Visiting Santa

Despite this being Jackson's 3rd Christmas, we had never done the traditional visit photo op with Santa prior to this week.

He was a preemie for his first Christmas and I was, well, not exactly concerned with visiting jolly St. Nick at the time.  For his second Christmas we just never got around to it.  And, frankly, neither Drew or I were that interested in standing in line with a zillion other fidgety and fussy kids just to watch Jackson scream in terror after being placed on a large, strange man's lap after which we would pay an exorbitant amount of money to capture the moment on film.  Call me crazy.

This year; however, I wanted to give it a try.  Jack has a pretty good concept of Santa these days and when I got wind that he would be visiting Weavers, a little department store in downtown Lawrence, we decided it was as good an opportunity as any.

Here's my little guy and his first visit with Santa.
Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you.  Jackson is no where in sight.  He was back here with Auntie Cortney.
Just as I expected, he had absolutely no desire to get near the old fella.  So we waved from afar and went on our merry way.

Maybe next year.
