{Easter 2011} The Easter Bunny

Every year our Country Club hosts an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday.  We've never participated before but after learning that the Easter Bunny himself would be present this year, thought it would be a fun outing for Jack & Cousin Linus.

Despite a forecast calling for a cool and drizzly day, it turned out to be goregous.  So off to the club we went!
I'll be the first to admit the egg hunt was lame.  Unfortunatley, there weren't all that many eggs hidden.  And since there was no separation (either via timing or different areas of the golf course) by age group, the bigger kids just snatched everything up in a matter of minutes leaving the little kids trailing behind and picking up the scraps.  So bummer there.

But...

As advertised, the Easter Bunny made an appearance!

Linus wins the award for quote of the day.  Upon seeing the bunny he declared, rather dejectedly, "Oh.  It's just a costume."  Yep.  It's just a costume.  But that didn't stop him from saying hello and sharing one of the new Silly Bandz he received in his basket earlier that morning.

Jackson, on the other hand, had a different reaction.  While excited at first.
It quickly turned to skepticism.
And then downright fear.

Not that I blame him.  The rabbit is a little freaky looking.
It was at this point that Jack declared "No more Easter Bunny.  My play golf!"  Daddy (eagerly) obliged and the two of them headed to the putting green while the rest of us continued to hunt for scraps eggs.

And consumed chocolate.

As expected, we found Drew & Jack on the putting green doing what they love best.
Linus got in on the action too with a little lesson from Uncle Drew.
All that hunting/terrifying/golfing called for a snack break so we popped into the clubhouse for a drink and some popcorn.
Then it was back to the house.
The rest of the family would be arriving soon!

Just for good  measure...are these boys not the cutest little guys ever?!
