I'm embarrassed to say that until last weekend, Jackson had never been to the library.
That's not to say we aren't into books at our house. Quite the opposite in fact. We read together every single day and must have over a hundred children's books at home. In fact, here we are at Borders Bookstore when Jack was just a few months old. (Oh my gosh, where has the time gone?!)
I guess we just got into the habit of buying books instead of borrowing them.
Last weekend, Drew was in Junction City helping his parents with a project so Jackson & I had the day to ourselves. It was the perfect opportunity to introduce him to the Lawrence Public Library.
We started the day with a little treat at Dunkin' Donuts.
He's a fan of sprinkles.
Then we were off to the library. It was wonderful! Jack was in awe of the endless shelves of books in the Children's Room. We spent over an hour there - which in toddler time is an eternity!
He sat quietly and looked at books.
He played at the Lego table.
He read at the Lego table.
Then we chose 5 books to bring home.
We've had so much fun reading his library books before bed all week. In fact, a couple of them became fast favorites. Hopefully it won't be too traumatic when we return them this weekend.
Luckily, the great thing about the library is, there are plenty more where those came from!
