It's Thanksgiving season. Naturally, this time of year gives us pause to think about all of the blessings in our lives and the many, many reasons we have to be thankful. It's certainly been on my mind. Of course my family, our health, our home and our jobs are high on my "I'm Thankful For" list. Today; however, I'm thankful for something a little less significant.
I'm thankful for lunch dates with my hubby.
We got into this routine a month or so ago. Once a week we meet for lunch. Nowhere fancy - in fact, usually here. Because it's not about the food. It's about an uninterrupted 30 minutes - 1 hour together. We can get in sync with our schedules, plans and activities for the coming days. We can talk about anything we want - or nothing at all - without having to do so over the chatter of our almost three-year-old (though, I will concede that almost three-year-old is often a topic of our conversations). There's no multi-tasking involved. We have each other's full attention. We can just be Heidi & Drew.
Without fail, it ends up being my favorite day of the week.
And I'm thankful for that.

it's certainly the best hour of the work week! thanks for taking the time out with me!
That's awesome!
With Linus in preschool more frequently, Adrian and I have started trying to do this too. It is always nice to reconnect and be able to get more than a half sentence in between answering the 'why' and 'what-if' questions.
