Halloween 2012

It's a good thing I'm not graded on blog activity.  I'd be failing for sure.

Here we are just days away from Thanksgiving (are you kidding me?!) and I haven't even posted Halloween pictures.  What's even worse is that I hardly TOOK any Halloween pictures - never mind post them on the blog.  Thank goodness for camera phones because that's about all I've managed to capture the past couple of months.

I sense a New Year's resolution for 2013.

At any rate, Halloween 2012 featured none other than...Spider-Man!
The day started with a party at school.  Normally I would decorate sugar cookies or make special cupcakes for the occasion, bu this year I wanted something quick, easy and healthy.  So we doctored up some mandarin orange cups for his classroom.
And off he went to school with the Spider-Man costume in tote.
We had a little time to kill between the end of school and our trick-or-treat plans so Jack Spider-Man got to make an appearance at my office.
For the second year in a row we joined the crowds of youngsters in downtown Lawrence to trick-or-treat on Mass St.  In just 4 blocks Jack had an entire bucket full and was ready to head home.

It was an unseasonably warm evening so the whole family perched on the front steps and handed out candy to the few trick-or-treaters that came our way.
Jack loved handing out candy to the kids.  Unfortunately, there are only 5 houses on our street so we don't get many visitors.  Poor Jack was so disappointed.  In fact, the funniest part of the night was when he hollered at a group of kids that were passing us by, "Hey!  Doesn't anybody want some candy?!"  Then, a light bulb went on in his head as he picked up the nearly full bowl.  "Well, I guess we'll just have to eat this ourselves" he said.

Needless to say, it was a very Happy Halloween!
