Weekend Reflections

It wasn't exactly San Diego, CA but Lawrence, KS wasn't all bad this weekend! A few highlights:
  • Date night at the club on Friday.
  • A busy and fun-filled Saturday including: A trip to the Farmer's Market (resulting in one of the best apple pies of all time! I have been craving pie - at least that was my excuse. It's a good thing the Farmer's Market is only once a week or I'd be in trouble!), breakfast with the blue hairs at Hy-Vee (I know...it's weird, but we get a kick out of it), a trip to Golf Galaxy (resulting in a new bag for those shiny new clubs of Drew's), a browse through Lowe's (more on this later), and finally a stop at Costco.
  • A mellow Sunday involving lots of golf on TV, clean laundry, BLT's for lunch (another item I've been craving) a good dinner and more apple pie. Oh yeah, Drew planted a Japanese Maple tree in the front yard and we discovered several tomatoes starting to appear on our tomato plants. Yeah!
  • The biggest accomplishment of the weekend was a final decision on our house's exterior face-lift. We had 3 painters come by last week to give us an estimate and have made a selection. While we're at it, we're going to have a new railing built for our front entrance, replace the exterior lights and get a new storm door (hence the trip to Lowe's). Now I just need to finalize the color selection and get on the painter's schedule!
