There's No Place Like Home

Boy does it feel good to be home! No flight issues today (reason #1 to always take the first flight of the day if possible...a tip I've learned over my years of traveling). After arriving home I grabbed a bite to eat and layed down to cuddle with Ruby for a minute before unpacking, etc. The next thing I knew it was 2:00!! Holly cow, I guess baby & I really were exhausted. So I ditched my plan of going into the office for a couple of hours this afternoon and instead piddled around the house, unpacked, sorted laundry and am now postponing making a grocery list. I'm hoping Drew will be back from NM soon so we can go out to dinner. The cupboards are BARE and cooking does not sound appealing at the moment.

So to kill time (and avoid that grocery list), I'm going to make good on a promise. My sister-in-law, Abby, posted a list of the top 5 things she can't live without here. Not practical things...actual material items that make your life easier. Just a little game for the blog readers out there. (And it resulted in me ordering 2 new pair of flip flops as well...an item from Abby's top 5!) Well, she tagged me to participate and I said I would. But before I start, here's a shameless plug from a proud aunt. Click here for a link from Abby's blog to see my nephew Linus' first birthday family photo shoot. Is he too cute to be true?!

Okay...on to my top 5:

1. My computer. Shopping, e-mailing, blogging, researching, banking. I use it every single day.

I spend an awful lot of time in here.

2. My iPod and more specifically the Bose Sound Dock. The Sound Dock was the first purchase I made when we moved into our new house a year and a half ago. Drew has his man room downstairs with the TV and surround sound. I have my space upstairs with my sound dock (on left). It's my favorite spot in the house. I'm a music lover and elected to forgo a TV upstairs and have music instead. In fact, it's playing right now!

3. My chi flat iron. I use it almost every single day. If it died, my morning routine would be seriously screwed up!

4. Yoga class. It's not exactly a "thing", but since I pay for it I'm counting it! It changed my life.

5. My cell phone and the Verizon In-Network. It means I have unlimited minutes to talk to Mom, Nikki and Cortney. Something I definitely couldn't live without!

Here are 3 honorable mentions:

1. Sonic Cherry Limeade.

2. My brown capri sweat pant outfit from Old Navy (on left). It was a whopping $12 on clearance last year and I put it on almost every night after work and on most weekends. It's so comfy and will stretch to grow right along with me...a key these days!

3. My Bose Noise Cancelling headphones. I don't use them all that often, but having just traveled I'm reminded how absolutely fabulous they are. I will never get on a plane without them.

So there you have it. I guess I better get to that grocery list now.
