A Pregnancy First

Today, I am wearing my first item of maternity clothing. Oh my.

I have to say, it's a really cute outfit. I bought this shirt in coral while in Boston with Cortney and happen to have shoes in the exact same color and jewelry to accompany it. But still...it's maternity.

Surprisingly, most of my pants still fit - although some are a bit snug. (I'm wearing my regular jeans today.) It's tops that I'm starting to have trouble with. Between my boobs (that are now slightly massive) and the belly that is popping out my tops aren't exactly flattering (or comfortable) these days. So I went for it. And I'm comfy. I suppose I'll have to break down and buy a few more items soon. This BellaBand is at the top of my list and some more shirts are going to be a must.

I'm going to resist the urge to have Drew take a picture of me in my first maternity outfit. (Or perhaps I will take one, but I won't post it quite yet.) August 12 - the date of my next belly watch post - is just a week away and I want the growing bump to be a surprise. As my friend Laura pointed out when we went to lunch today...it is no longer a "she's putting on weight" belly. Sometime (overnight it seems) it became a round baby belly!

So, lord help me, bring on the maternity clothes!

Congrats, I guess. :) Maternity clothes are... well, maternity clothes. But at least you're comfortable. I definitely recommend the Bella band. It will allow you to wear your regular pants longer and it will help hold up maternity jeans b/c maternity jeans are impossible to keep up.

I can't wait to see the next pic.

I can vouch for the fact that Heidi looked super cute today. She looks fabulous in red. And the baby belly is definitely round and high and growing!

I agree with Laura. I don't even have to see Heidi today to know she looks super cute! The tops and dress she bought in Boston are so....maternity chic! :)
Can't wait to see the pictures next week, Heidi! (Can't we just pretend today is the 12th?)
