I love it when I can cross things off my to-do list.
I'm home from St. Louis where I flew yesterday for this morning's CMP exam. It was a quick trip, but (hopefully) a successful one. As far as the exam goes, all of us from the KC study group agreed it was much different than we expected. Not necessarily good different or bad different...just different. I'm calling my attitude "cautiously confident" but we'll know for sure in about 6 weeks when results are mailed.
Overall, St. Louis was quite enjoyable. I traveled with a colleague and we actually had a little free time last night to eat at one of my favorite places, PF Changs, and do a little shopping. Oh yes...the shopping. Judy wanted to pop into Ann Taylor Loft. My absolute favorite store. The store that somehow sucks money from my pockets in $100 increments. Well, I thought I was safe this time. After all, I have a growing belly and it doesn't make a lot of sense to be buying new "regular" clothes for Fall. Oops. How was I supposed to know many of the current styles are empire waist and can actually function as maternity clothes? Or that the sale rack would be full of those adorable jackets that button at the neck and then lay open - sort of like this one. The good news...I bought nothing but sale items, everything I purchased can be worn for at least the next few months of belly growing, and they're not "maternity" so technically I can continue to wear them next season as well. Did I mention it was all on sale? Once again...I got suckered by The Loft.
Now that the exam is over I can turn my attention to the growing to-do list that I've been ignoring. Most of which involves preparing for baby. But that can wait until next week. I've got another plan for the rest of this weekend. I'm going to read a book. Not study materials, not industry glossaries, not even baby books. I'm going to read a novel. Pure fiction. Pure entertainment. I haven't picked up a "fun" book since my study group began way back in April and I miss books! So if you need me this weekend I'll be in my chair with my nose in a book.

You do know that Ann Taylor Loft has maternity, right? So, you don't have to give up that habit... just adjust it a bit. I'm glad you found some good sales. I wore a lot of non-maternity during my pregnancy and just supplemented with a few necessary maternity items (i.e. pants).
Heidi,
I'm glad to hear your home safely from St Louis. I'm sure your thrilled the test is over and all that studying is behind you. Now you can have fun with all the baby planning you need to do.
Love Mom
Thanks Abby - I did know about The Loft maternity. In fact, I plan to use the $50 in coupons I earned on Friday (this is how they get me...spend $50 and you'll save $25...who can pass that up?) on some staple dressier maternity items for work.
Mom,
You are so right. The planner in me is just dying to get this ball rolling! I can hardly wait until the 19th. Mostly to make sure everything is progressing normally but as soon as I know boy/girl there will be no stopping me!
Can't wait to see you.
