It was one of those mornings I crave all summer long. A cold front moved through Lawrence last night and dropped temperatures by about 30 degrees. We were finally able to turn off the A/C (albeit, temporarily I'm sure) and open up the windows. The result...an aired out house and absolutely perfect sleeping weather. It was actually chilly in our room last night and I slept more soundly than I have in months.
When the alarm went off we decided a couple of "snooze" sessions would be okay. My hubby is a cuddler (don't tell him I told you!) and it was a perfect morning for cuddling. It was then that the baby woke up too. Drew felt him move once a week or so ago, but since then I've never been able to get to him in time to experience it again. Not the case this morning. The little guy was wide awake and we layed in bed and felt him wiggle around. It was awesome!
I was curious how it felt from Drew's perspective. I've been feeling the baby move for a few weeks now and lately it has increased in frequency as well as force! Since I'm feeling him from the inside and out simultaneously it's bound to be a much different sensation than Drew experiences. His description: "The first time it felt like a tennis ball rolling in your stomach, but now it's more like little jabs." Interesting.
And so began a beautiful September morning. (Sidebar: To my fellow musical theatre junkies out there, the title of this post is a tribute to one of my favorites...Oklahoma! I wonder how long that song will remain in my head today!)
Now duty calls...time to get to work on that seeming endless to-do list at the office.
