Home sweet home...for a few days anyway. I got back from Palm Springs around 10:00 last night. It was a great site visit for the 2010 National Championship & Golf Classic. Our host hotel will be LaQuinta Resort & Club and words can not do it justice (click on the link to see for yourself). What a phenomenal place! Besides meeting with the hotel staff and analyzing their function space, we spent an entire day touring golf courses. 8 to be exact. And have I mentioned that it was 103 degrees? That part was a bit miserable, but who can complain about an all expenses paid trip to a luxury resort and an entire day touring phenomenal golf courses? Not me!
I'm home until Wednesday when I hit the road again. This time for our Fall Board of Directors Meeting in State College, PA. That's a 5 day trip and will not be quite as laid back as this last one. After that, per doctor's orders, I'm grounded. No more traveling until after baby. I'm looking forward to a little break from my usually insane Fall/Winter travel season. I'm ready to do some "nesting" and get ready for my little guy. But at the same time, it's a bit scary to think we've already reached this point. This pregnancy will be over before I know it!
Speaking of the pregnancy, nothing monumental to report. I still feel like I grow by the minute and his activity is also continuing to increase. Sometimes, I imagine his kicks and turns as his way of communicating with me. I wonder if his little nudges are his way of saying, "Thanks for the cherry limeade, mom" or "I'm hungry, mom" or "It's not time for you to go to bed yet, mom". Silly, I know, but it makes me smile. I try to remember to say hello to him when I feel him being especially active. Drew's been really enjoying his movements, too. I think it's becoming more of a reality for Drew now that he can feel the baby so often. Which reminds me, when I called to check-in from the airport yesterday Drew's first comment was "Hey. How's the baby?" I think he missed both of us.
Now I'm off to tackle my to-do list. It's quite extensive since I only have a few days at home this week. My new employee starts on Monday so I need to spend some catch-up time in the office on Sunday. And as soon as I get back from my next trip I only have 3 days before family and friends start arriving in town for the baby shower. So much to do...so little time.
