I'm Not Complaining

I've had one of those pregnancies that many women would probably hate me for. No sickness, no complications, not a massive weight gain, no major aches and pains. In fact, I can honestly say I've enjoyed my pregnancy. That said, there are some things I'm really starting to miss:
  • Zippers. I can't remember the last time I actually zipped up a pair of pants. Elastic is comfy and all (who am I kidding...I wear it out of pure necessity), but I will absolutely jump for joy the day I can pull on a pair of jeans that require a button and a zipper!

  • Shoes. I love shoes. I have tons of shoes. I can't wear any of my shoes. My feet have gotten so swollen I am down to 2 pair that I am actually comfortable in and that don't result in blue feet due to zero circulation. And needless to say, the comfy shoes are never the cute ones. Oh how I miss cute shoes.

  • Ankles. I've never had cute skinny ankles. All 3 of the women in my family have the same large calves and "not exactly skinny" ankles. Genetics. However, I now have NO ankles. My legs go straight fram calf to swollen foot. I now have "cankles" and (I can't believe I'm saying this) actually miss my "not exactly skinny" ankles.

  • My wedding ring. My fingers are the second most swollen part of my body and I can no longer wear my wedding ring without fearing that it will become so stuck I will either have to cut it off, or my finger will fall off due to the lack of circulation it creates. I love my wedding ring. It has been a part of my body for over 7 years now and I feel naked without it. I really miss my wedding ring.

But I'm not complaining.

This makes me laugh. I know exactly what you mean. Lucky for me, I was uber-prego in the summer which meant flip flops all the way although the summer brought it's own issues.

You'll be back in "real" pants soon. Hang in there.
