It's a happy day in the Elser household.
Obviously, Drew & I are huge sports fans. All sports really, but especially our beloved Kansas Jayhawks. The question is, have we taken it too far when 2 different family members contacted us today to check on the health of our unborn child? My mom called with 4 minutes left in the game. She knows us well enough to know that we wouldn't stop watching the game to answer the phone, but she left a message cautioning me that perhaps I should turn the channel because my blood pressure was surely on the rise and that is not good for the baby. A couple of hours after the game I received a text message from my Aunt Mary. She wondered if the baby would have hearing damage due to all the screaming that Drew & I must have been doing as we watched. My reply: It's possible...since Drew is now without a voice!
I can't help but think we played a small part in today's victory. This morning, Drew & I stopped at the Hawk Zone to browse the KU Merchandise. Drew made his first purchase for our son - an infant sized KU stocking hat. His intention is for the little guy to wear it home from the hospital in January. Perhaps that purchase for a future Jayhawk set the stars in motion for the perfect victory!
Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Drew and Heidi, the shouts of joy were loud and long at our house too. As soon as Dad was calm enough to talk he said he hoped Heidi had not induced labor with all the shouting and jumping she too must have been doing! the Hawks Rock! Mom AND Dad
