These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

I have a new favorite baby item. The sling. Thanks to my Nana Diers for the awesome gift at my baby shower and thanks to my sister-in-law Abby for the tips on using it properly!

My sling is a hotsling - the pouch style. When I first tried using it with Jackson he fussed and squirmed and seemed very uncomfortable. I didn't want to give up on it and I knew that Abby swore by her sling. So I asked for her help. Once again, she was a wealth of information and pointed us to some videos on different carrying methods. We found one that worked for us and Jackson and I are now hooked!

Oh the freedom of having both hands free! This week I have managed to fold laundry, do some minor picking-up, cook manicotti and type freely with both hands (as I'm doing now!) all while "wearing" Jackson. I have yet to venture outside with the sling, but can't wait to browse the bookstore or downtown shops with my little guy in his sling.

I love it so much I have ordered another one in a different style, per Abby's recommendation, to try as well. I expect this to arrive early next week. The ring slings give you a bit more flexibility and offer some additional carrying styles that I am anxious to try as well. And if nothing else, I'll have 2 different patterns to choose from depending on my mood (or my outfit!)

Here are a few pictures of my sling in action.

Oh I am so glad you are both loving it. Wearing baby just makes life so much easier. No bulky stroller, totally free hands... such a luxury. Plus, Jackson looks absolutely content to be snuggled up next to mama.

And, I must say, you are looking fantastic. Not at all like you should have a baby so very young. Totally hot mama.

Love the sling pattern. Babywearing is totally addictive. I could buy a sling for every outfit if only Linus weren't starting to want to walk more and I had the money to do it.

Thanks Abby!

I've been really lucky - so much of my weight was from swelling it literally just melted off. And, of course, breast feeding doesn't hurt. I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight, but have some serious toning to do before things are really back to where they belong.

Once I'm back at work I'll be re-starting my yoga classes (my company offers it at noon right at the office!) so hopefully that will do the trick.
