When we got in the truck, Drew & I were talking about how often people/strangers comment on Jack's size. It doesn't bother us, we just find it kind of comical. He's a big boy. No doubt about it.
So were his parents. I was nearly 9 lbs at birth as was Drew (is that right, Deb?)
Funny story about me...I had pneumonia as a newborn and was really sick. Sick enough that they admitted me into the NICU. My parents often talk about the reactions from the other NICU parents at the sight of this seemingly massive 9 lb child amongst the teeny tiny 3 lb. preemies! I can relate slightly as Jack was on the large end in the NICU at 5 lbs. 12. oz.
But I digress. My size grated me the nickname Bubba. Drew, I am told, was referred to as Moose. I grew out of my baby fat quickly and was a very petite toddler and stayed petite all the way through high school. Drew was never an overweight child either. I'm sure the same will be true for Jack.
But for now, it should come as no surprise that we have a rolly polly baby in the 87th percentile for weight. After all, he comes from a Bubba and Moose!
