Life With a Toddler

If it has taught me nothing else, Jackson's entry into "Toddlerhood" has taught me to loosen up.

Case and point...this was the scene in my bathroom earlier this week:

What you see is my entire collection of necklaces (the chunky beads/costume jewelry stuff) and pieces of toilet paper strewn across the bathroom floor.  With Jackson in the middle of it all, sporting a couple of necklaces to boot.

The most shocking thing about this scene?  It was a fully supervised - in fact, encouraged - activity.

Why, you ask?

Because Mommy needed 15 minutes to put on make-up and dry her hair.

And if that means I have to pick up necklaces and toilet paper...then so be it.

I hear ya. One trick I use to get ready is to put L in the bath. He loves to splash and play while I dry my hair and put on make-up. It doesn't really matter if I take the time to soap him up, it's more about the time for me.
