Ahh...the December birthday dilemma.
I labored over this decision for a couple of weeks. Do we have a birthday party for Jackson - just 2 weeks before hosting the Wagner family for Christmas? That's a lot of planning, prepping, cleaning and cooking in a short amount of time. Especially considering he's not really at an age to appreciate a birthday party (or even notice if he didn't have one). But perhaps the bigger question, who would we invite? There are the daycare kids, but I don't even know the parents of his classmates. Besides, he'll have a celebration at "school" already. There's family, but very few of them live close enough to consider attending. There are our friends, but it feels tacky to invite them to a two year old's party. I mean, you can get away with that for a First Birthday Party, but two?
I even posed the question to my facebook friends - and received mixed results.
You can probably guess what I decided.
Parties are my thing. And while I won't deny that they can be a lot of work, I actually find the process quite enjoyable.
So a party we will have.
But not just for Jackson. Instead, we are having an Elser Family Birthday Party!
It was a perfect solution; after all, all 3 of us celebrate birthdays within 10 days of each other. This way, we get to celebrate our little guy turning two. We get to entertain our friends during the holiday season. And I get to plan a party!
The concept is complete. The menu is planned. The cake is ordered. The first of the decorations have been purchased. I don't want to give it away quite yet, but here's a peek at what I have up my sleeve.
Stay tuned!

I guessed the theme and have a little special party decoration I whipped up for it. I'll be sending it your way once I have Jack's present ready.
