We finally took the plunge.
Goodbye crib.
Hello toddler bed.
And wouldn't you know, one of my fears about having a young child who can now get up and move about the house at his own free will came true after the very first night. Jackson totally walked in on us doing the deed.
Before you judge, we heard him coming. We were fully covered. He had absolutely no idea. No permanent damage was done (to Jack anyway). *Gulp*
Note to self: Just because he goes to bed almost 2 hours late does not mean Jack will sleep in the next morning.
Aside from that little episode, it's going pretty well. So far, we're not able to leave the room until he's asleep - which isn't such a big deal at bedtime, but it does make nap time more time consuming. Honestly though, even in the crib Jack would rarely put himself to sleep so the routine isn't all that different.
He loves his "big kid" bed. And I'll admit, hearing the creek of his door, the pitter patter of feet, and his little voice say "Hi Mommy" in the morning is awfully cute.
Unless you're doing the deed.
