- It was a stormy, stormy night! All of the local meteorologists were predicting the end of the world as the "perfect storm" developed across the Midwest yesterday. Something about the most dangerous conditions since 1974 when 39 tornadoes touched down across Kansas. I'm cool with a good thunderstorm, but start talking tornadoes and I'm a nervous wreck! While there were some tornadoes in central and northern Kansas, it was nothing catastrophic and we were lucky in Lawrence. The storm finally rolled through around 9:30 pm and brought torrential rain and some wind (although, not the 70 mph straight line winds predicted) and it was all over by 11:30 pm. Whew.
- Drew & I received a fun package in the mail this week. "Aunt" Cortney sent a brochure with baby names and their meanings for our reading pleasure. Believe it or not, Drew & I are pretty much set on both a boy and girl name. (I know, it's only been 8 weeks but believe me...we've been pondering this decision for years!) Of course, we reserve the right to change our minds. And we're going to try to keep our choices under wraps until the big arrival. But I'll give you a hint. It will not be Griffin (meaning hooked nose) or Campbell (meaning crooked mouth). Who comes up with these things?!
- No real plans to speak of this weekend. Which actually doesn't sound all bad. When I asked Drew what he thought we should do this weekend he replied, "Hang out at home and be pregnant." I think I'm good with that. While I'm "hanging out being pregnant" I think I'll reorganize my closet (time to move the fall/winter wardrobe to the back and bring the spring/summer stuff to the front) and perhaps make a final decision on the paint colors for the exterior of our house.
Happy Friday!

Last Sunday must have been unnerving for you.....glad it turned out to be othing to worry about. A quiet weekend at home sounds like a great idea.
Last nights weather was a bit scary at Wakefield with tornadoes touching down 10 miles away. The sirens were on for better than an hour. The wind and rain were WILD.
While the storm was approaching and happening we had Sal and Tom Eakes here installing a new air conditioner. It was chaos!
have a good weekend! Deb
