It was a day of celebrations at the office today.
My colleague (and study partner), Judy, finally got word on Thursday that she too earned her CMP designation. So our bosses teamed up and threw us a surprise party. We enjoyed a massive cake and lots of well wishes from our colleagues throughout the day. We were also treated to lunch out at Paisano's, which happens to be one of my favorite restaurants in Lawrence. It was there that my boss announced that with our next paycheck we would be receiving a $500 bonus from the company as a reward for achieving a professional designation. It was a huge surprise...and completely erased any (albeit minor) guilt I had about paying someone else to paint our nursery! And I think I will go ahead and splurge on that new digital camera I've had my eye on while I'm at it! To cap off the day, I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my Mom & Dad...it's as if they knew today was a celebration. Here are a few pictures of the festivities at the office.
The second celebration was bittersweet for me. One of my closest friends, Laura, was celebrating her last day at GCSAA. She is moving on to a very exciting new position at KU and I couldn't be happier for her. While I know we will still see lots of each other, I'll sure miss seeing her in the office and I'll especially miss our impromptu lunch dates.
And now the weekend has finally arrived. The weeks sure go by fast these days, but today's celebrations were a perfect way to end this one!

Yay for the bonus! They didn't give those out back when I got my Citrix Certification. I'm sad too that we can't just jump in the car and do lunch anymore, but we'll just have to plan it a little better, cause I'll still need my Heidi lunches.
