Ahh...the holidays.
Last year, I was planning for Christmas in October because I knew I would be very pregnant, uncomfortable and unmotivated come December. Turns out it was a good thing I was prepared since Jackson decided to come a month early.
This year, I am planning for Christmas in October (okay I'll admit it, I actually started buying in September) in order to avoid bankruptcy! In a 13-day stretch during the month of December our family of 3 celebrates not 1, not 2, but 3 birthdays and Christmas. Never mind that our car tags are due and Ruby needs her annual shots. Awesome.
But that's not to say I'm not enjoying all of this planning. Even though Jack was here last Christmas, he was too little and I was too hormonal/overwhelmed/exhausted to really get into it. This year is a different story. Drew & I are so excited to celebrate with our son and start some holiday traditions of our own. And shopping for a 1 year old boy is so much more fun than shopping for a 32 year old boy!
To my fellow early planners...as requested, I have posted wish lists for our family in the right-hand column of the blog.
'Tis the Season!
