Ah, the day we've been waiting for!
My whole family (Mom, Dad, Nikki, Matt) piled into the car and headed east to share Christmas with us. Drew & I declared a moratorium on traveling, at least over Christmas Day, last year. It's just easier that way what with a small child, visits from Santa and all the tradition that goes along with Christmas. Of course, our door is always open to visitors and this year the Wagner side took us up on it. I was thrilled.
The first order or business upon arrival (after the squeals of excitement from Jack & I and praises that the 8 hour trek from Denver was over from the traveling crew) was adding to the pile of presents.
Then it was dinner time. Our traditional Christmas Eve meal is the same as mine as a child - Chili and (sometimes) oyster stew. After dinner we had a belated birthday celebration.
Then the boys got cookies ready for Santa.
After Jackson was tucked snugly in bed we prepped for the next morning (wink, wink) and then stayed up late talking and laughing with my family.
And this is why I love the holidays!
Coming soon...Christmas Day has arrived!
