Christmas Day! This is what Jackson awoke to.
Apparently the elf was giving Mr. Claus good reports. Santa brought quite a haul!
Once everyone was up and at 'em we had a big breakfast complete with bubble loaf (this is an Elser tradition), quiche, fruit, and mimosas. Then we all got dressed and prepared to dive into the presents.
I have to admit, Jackson was less interested in the opening of the presents than I expected. He actually got rather bored with the whole unwrapping thing and preferred to play with his new toy(s) rather than rush to open another. So we took our time. It was nearly bedtime when Jack opened his final gift of the day.
We spent the better part of the day opening, assembling and playing with the various gifts. There were too many to list for the little man and some serious electronics for the grown ups. And boys was it fun!
Playing Mr. Potato Head with Nana
Two new laptops!
Matt's new touch
Papa's new nano
Doing some work at his new table & chairs
Building with Daddy
Drawing with Nana
A HUGE tower
Then, believe it or not, we took down the Christmas tree. The poor thing was beyond dead and we were ready to say goodbye. Besides, we had lots of helpers!
Once Jack was tucked into bed I took my family across town to watch an animated Christmas light display that was quite a popular event in Lawrence this year. Then we called it a night.
Just like that Christmas was over. Weeks of planning, prepping, shopping, wrapping and cooking all over in the blink of an eye.
And I couldn't have asked for anything more.
I'll be back soon with one final wrap up of Christmas 2010.
